Hal Ott
After undergraduate study in chemistry at the University of
Florida, Dr. Ott attained his DVM degree in 1969 from Auburn
University. He served two years as Captain in the USAF stationed
at MacDill. In 1971, Dr. Ott opened the Ruskin Animal Hospital
and Cat Clinic and continues as sole owner and chief of staff.
Over the past 40 years, he acquired extensive experience treating
companion animals and developed a growing fascination in feline
medicine. He also serves as Medical Director of the Cat Thyroid
Center (www.catthyroid.com),
the third licensed facility in the state of Florida for I-131
treatment of feline hyperthyroidism. In 2000, Dr. Ott founded
C.A.R.E. Inc, a dog/cat rescue and adoption center and low
cost spay/neuter clinic in Ruskin. In 2004, he opened Ott's
Off Leash Dog Park, (http://www.facebook.com),
a beautiful 5 acre park which is free to the public. His greatest
joy in life are his wonderful children and grandchildren.
