Medical Director and Radiation Safety Officer

Dr. Greg Heaton

After growing up in Ohio, he spent the next eight years in Indiana obtaining his BS Degree in Chemistry and Psychology from Valparaiso University (1999) and DVM degree from Purdue University (2003). While at veterinary school, he conducted research through the Center for the Human-Animal Bond to deepen the understanding of our personal connection to our pets. After graduation he decided to seek warmer weather, so he moved to the Tampa area and has been doctoring Florida cats and dogs ever since. He joined the team here in Ruskin in 2012 and is thrilled to be working alongside Dr. Ott in the Cat Thyroid Center. Dr. Heaton has a calming, caring touch with our feline patients-honed both through years of clinical practice as well as sharing his home with his own "opinionated" feline, Foxxy Love.

He is currently a member of the AVMA, FVMA, and AAFP.
